PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY

Here are some steps that you can take to ensure the privacy of your personal information that is captured and stored by cookies.

Install Internet security software across all of your devices​. Here is a link to some trusted softwares:

1.

Look at your browser’s security and privacy settings. Open your browsers settings and set the cookie policies to be as rigid as you feel necessary without making it impossible for you to access website features

Use private or incognito mode when browsing. When you are using either of these modes, the browser will not use any existing cookies and when the browser is closed, all cookies will be deleted.

You can set "opt-out"​ cookies on your browser. The company Evidon has created a list of what trackers company's use on websites and allow you to opt-out from all of them at one time. To use this took go to Evidon's Global Consent Preferences Page

4.

Delete Cookies: first you need to find the cookies that have been stored on your computer. Do this by searching “cookies” in your browser’s help menu and follow the instructions

Remember to always log out of your accounts when you’re finished

Don’t use public WIFI to access important accounts such as your social media and online banking

  • Make sure you don’t send private or sensitive information while your connected to untrusted WIFI

  • If you have to use public WIFI, try using a Virtual Private Network (VPN). This will allow you to create a private path for you information to flow through on a public network

  • Be careful when you share personal information, especially on public computers
